Benin: HAAC withdraws frequencies from five private radio stations
The High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication has terminated the authorizations of five private radio stations.

The High Authority for Audiovisual and Communication has terminated the authorizations of five private radio stations.
These include Couffo FM, Atifa FM, Urban FM, Nostalgie FM and Alfa FM. These stations have not been broadcasting for several months, despite repeated formal notices from the authority.
The decision published on November 13, 2025, notes that the frequencies 104.7 MHz, 90.3 MHz, 106.9 MHz and 90.0 MHz are no longer being used by their license holders, in violation of the contractual obligations governing radio broadcasting in Benin.
The operators concerned did not respond to the HAAC’s requests, which had already tried to obtain a resumption of activity.
The regulator says it acted to preserve strict management of the radio spectrum. This public resource must remain available to operators who can ensure its continuous use.
The withdrawal of the frequencies takes effect as soon as the decisions are notified to the stations’ managers.
