This distinction celebrates the artist in the recording category, making her the first African artist to receive a star on this iconic avenue.

The tribute crowns four decades of a career marked by eighteen albums, five Grammy Awards, and global influence recognized by leading media such as Time and Forbes.

Alongside her music, her social commitment is reflected in the actions of her Batonga foundation, which supports education and empowerment for young girls in Benin and Senegal.

In order to mark this nationally significant event, the President of the Republic, Romuald Wadagni, has sent an official delegation to represent the country alongside the artist, composed of the Minister of Culture, Arts, and Heritage, Yassine Latoundji, and the ambassador of Benin to the United States, Agniola Ahouanmenou.

On behalf of the Beninese people, the government has conveyed its warmest congratulations to the diva of African music.
