A case has caused shock in the Camp-Adagbè neighborhood, in the 1st arrondissement of Parakou, where the body of a young girl was found dead this Sunday in a house used, according to residents, by a man described as a “senior nurse”.
The body was in an advanced state of decomposition when the authorities were alerted. According to information reported by Fraternité FM, the death is believed to be linked to an illegal abortion carried out two days earlier.
The victim reportedly died shortly after the procedure, and her body allegedly remained in the room until neighbors, bothered by a strong smell, raised the alarm.
The 1st arrondissement police immediately went to the scene to carry out on-site assessments. The main suspect was arrested and taken into custody for the purposes of the investigation.
The girl’s body was transported to allow the examinations required by procedure. Under the supervision of the district commissioner, investigations continue to determine the exact circumstances of the tragedy and establish responsibility.
