Benin: a father dies in an accident while driving his sick wife to the hospital

The city of Parakou was plunged into mourning on the night of Thursday, October 30, 2025, by a tragic accident that occurred in front of the Sinagourou royal palace, in the first arrondissement.

A young man, riding a Bajaj motorcycle, was killed on the spot after a violent collision with a truck.

According to witnesses, the tragedy occurred around 10 p.m., as the victim, who had left Badékparou (Tchaourou municipality), was trying to reach the hospital to take his sick wife and child there. The truck coming from the opposite direction reportedly turned sharply, causing a powerful impact.

The man died instantly. His wife and child, injured in the accident, were rushed to a health center to receive care.
