The Police républicaine de Bassila carried out, at dawn on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, the arrest of a couple suspected of supplying a network trading in psychotropic products.
The operation took place in the Kokoyè neighborhood and was based on specific intelligence provided to officers of the Police républicaine.
Under the coordination of the commissaire de Bassila, officers searched the couple’s home, which was in fact carrying out illicit activities behind the facade of an ordinary shop. The search led to the seizure of a large block of cannabis as well as several small pre-packaged doses ready for sale.
Investigators say the house served as a distribution and consumption point, comparable to a « ghetto ».
This operation comes a few days after another arrest, on Saturday, 15 November, at the Frignon market, where an individual was apprehended for a similar offence. Both actions reflect the intensification of the fight against drug trafficking in the municipality.
