Barcelona announced the agreement on September 11 before the formal signing. The Catalan club confirmed on Wednesday the extension of the young striker’s contract, just weeks after his permanent transfer to the blaugrana colors.

Arriving on loan from Al Ahly in February 2026, Abdelkarim quickly made a name for himself with the U19 team. The club noted that he scored nine goals in six league matches, including a hat-trick in a 9-0 victory against Montecarlo.

His performances earned him a spot in Hansi Flick’s squad this summer. With four goals in pre-season, the Egyptian international finished as Barcelona’s top scorer during the off-season before making his official first-team debut on August 31 against Rayo Vallecano.
