Arsenal: Julian Alvarez targeted to replace Gabriel Martinelli
With Gabriel Martinelli edging closer to a move to Al-Hilal, Arsenal are already planning his succession. The Gunners are reportedly making Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez a top target to bolster their attacking options.

Arsenal are considering signing Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez to make up for Gabriel Martinelli’s potential departure. The Gunners are continuing discussions with Al-Hilal over a possible transfer of the Brazilian winger to the Saudi club. According to Sky Sports, Martinelli is now said to be open to the idea of joining the Saudi Pro League, provided an agreement is reached between the two clubs. Negotiations are said to have progressed in recent days, particularly regarding the fee involved.
In light of this prospect, Arsenal are said to have already identified his potential successor. Julián Álvarez is reportedly among the London club’s priorities to strengthen its attack. The Argentine international, who joined Atlético Madrid from Manchester City in 2024, is considered one of the most complete forwards of his generation. His versatility and experience at the highest level fit the profile sought by Mikel Arteta. Martinelli’s departure could therefore trigger significant movement within Arsenal’s attack in the final days of the transfer window.
