Amanda Brugel marries Aidan Shipley after nearly eight years of love

The 48-year-old actress and the 33-year-old actor-director exchanged handwritten vows in front of a hundred close friends and family. Brugel walked down the aisle with her sons Jude, 15, and Phoenix, 12, who also served as Shipley’s groomsmen.

After the ceremony, guests paraded through the town, accompanied by the Celtic band The Bookends. The reception continued at the Elora Mill, where the couple had already created several family memories over the years.

Amanda Brugel wore an ivory ruffled gown by De La Vali and a floral crown before changing into a second outfit for the evening. Aidan Shipley opted for a black double-breasted suit, complemented by a white rose boutonniere.

The couple had made their wedding preparations public several months in advance. In an Instagram post, Brugel had already mentioned their upcoming marriage, while Shipley expressed his excitement about marrying her on the occasion of their seven-year anniversary.

Together since November 2018, they already shared a home and family life. The actress, known for her role as Rita in The Handmaid’s Tale, described the wedding as the final public step in a relationship she considers strong. The couple will celebrate their eight-year anniversary in November 2026.
