Friday evening yielded the first verdicts from the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 quarterfinals. As hosts of the tournament, Morocco sealed their berth in the semifinals by beating Cameroon (2-0). Buoyed by their home crowd, the Atlas Lions made the difference thanks to goals from Brahim Díaz and Ismaël Saibari, dominating the Indomitable Lions.
In the other match of the evening, Senegal continued their run by edging Mali by the narrowest of margins (1-0). Solid and pragmatic, the Lions of Teranga knew how to make the difference to reach the semifinals.
The rest of the quarterfinals will take place this Saturday with two highly anticipated matches. Nigeria will face Algeria at 5:00 PM, in a clash between two giants of the continent, followed by the high-profile showdown between Egypt and Ivory Coast, scheduled for 8:00 PM.
