Abomey: a teenager arrested after a knife attack.
In Abomey, in the Zou Department, security forces arrested a young man under twenty, suspected of violently assaulting the manager of a mobile phone service center.
The events allegedly occurred when the suspect went into the booth to buy airtime. After the transaction, and at the moment the shopkeeper was giving him change, the young man suddenly attacked him.
The victim, a man in his forties, was seriously injured before being taken care of by health services. His condition required evacuation to a hospital for appropriate care.
The presumed perpetrator of the act was immediately subdued and placed in police custody by the Republican Police. According to the initial information gathered during his questioning, he was not able to explain the reasons for his action.
At this stage of the investigation, the exact motives for this assault remain unknown.
