At least 34 national teams have now secured their ticket to the 2026 World Cup.
On Monday night, Germany and the Netherlands became the most recent teams to clinch qualification for next year’s World Cup. In Leipzig, the Mannschaft were rampant, trouncing Slovakia 6-0 at the Red Bull Arena, thereby sealing their return to the world stage. A few hours later, the Netherlands followed the Germans’ example with a 4-0 win over Lithuania, a victory that also secures their place in the tournament. The 2026 edition will mark a historic first: 48 nations will take part, compared with 32 at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Asia: Australia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Uzbekistan
