On a national tour to carry the project “Plus loin, ensemble” to victory in the presidential election on April 12, Romuald Wadagni stopped over on Tuesday in the municipalities of Tchaourou and Savè. In front of the people, the candidate laid out an ambitious roadmap focused on agriculture and infrastructure.

The Marina’s future occupant reaffirmed the central role of the agricultural sector in the national economy. « Agr iculture, which accounts for a third of our wealth, will benefit from a large share of our energy resources », he said, also recalling its social weight: « more than 3 million of our fellow citizens are farmers or breeders », while « those who live directly from agriculture are 7 million ».

In Tchaourou, a strategic hub with thriving trade with Nigeria, Romuald Wadagni emphasized the need for targeted investments. « Tchaourou is known as a trading hub with Nigeria. Tchaourou is known as a major agricultural commune », he stressed, before adding: « Tchaourou is a priority because it is a major bastion of agriculture ».

The flagship project remains the construction of a bridge over the Okpara River, intended to open up the area and secure travel. « We have far too many children dying. Far too many people die on this bridge », he warned, noting that « the studies are already underway » and promising to « go very, very fast ». The tour continued in Savè, where the candidate announced « the imminent reopening of the Société Sucrière de Savè », an industrial lever intended to restart local processing and energize the regional economy.
