The Autonomous National Electoral Commission issued the final receipts to the two duos selected to compete in the 2026 presidential election.

This formality confirms their official participation in the election, following the verification of files, endorsements and required medical examinations.

The duo Romuald Wadagni – Mariam Chabi Talata, backed by the ruling movement, and the team Paul Hounkpè – Judicaël Rock Hounwanou, representing the opposition, are now the only ones in the running for these electoral contests.

The handing over of the final receipts brings the selection process to an end and paves the way for what promises to be a decisive electoral campaign.

According to the CENA, no substantial irregularity was found in the files of these two candidate duos, which allowed both candidacies to be validated without reservation. This step closes the administrative procedure and confirms the expected head-to-head in 2026.
