2026 presidential election in Benin: the Constitutional Court approves two candidate tickets
The Constitutional Court confirmed on Thursday, November 13, 2025, the validity of the candidacies of the pairs Romuald Wadagni – Mariam Chabi Talata and Paul Hounkpè – Judicaël Rock Hounwanou for the presidential election on April 12, 2026.
The Constitutional Court confirmed on Thursday, November 13, 2025, the validity of the candidacies of the pairs Romuald Wadagni – Mariam Chabi Talata and Paul Hounkpè – Judicaël Rock Hounwanou for the presidential election on April 12, 2026.
The decision (decision EP25-012) follows the mandatory medical examination as well as the assessment of the files by the constitutional court.
With this validation, these two pairs officially become the two candidate duos in the running for the 2026 presidential election.
