2026 legislative and municipal elections: CENA takes delivery of the voting booths for Borgou and Alibori
With just over a month to go before the legislative and municipal elections scheduled for January 2026, the Commission électorale nationale autonome (CENA) is continuing to roll out its logistical arrangements.

On Monday, December 15, 2025, a team from the institution received a first batch of electoral materials at the Parakou central police station, destined for the Borgou and Alibori departments.
In total, 6,700 voting booths were received to meet the needs of the 14 affected communes, six in Alibori and eight in Borgou. This equipment will be used to outfit all polling stations for the upcoming election.
According to Hervé Arcadius Zinzindohoué, head of the department in charge of planning electoral operations at the CENA, distribution will follow a well-defined chain. After reception, the voting booths are handed over to focal points set up at the town halls.
An allocation table will then be drawn up by the Materials and Operations Directorate to determine, commune by commune, the quantities required. Arrondissement coordinators will then take over, before the equipment is actually made available to polling station staff.
The official also specifies that these metal voting booths are intended to be reused over several electoral cycles. Once the election is over, they will be successively grouped at the arrondissement, commune and department levels for storage.
This operation marks a new step in the logistical preparations for the 2026 election, which the CENA intends to organize in accordance with the timetable and the electoral standards in force.
