The quarterfinal bracket of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, currently taking place in Morocco, is now complete following the last matches played on Wednesday. Canada recorded one of the competition’s biggest wins by outclassing Zambia (6-0), while Japan comfortably beat Colombia (4-0). Meanwhile, Mexico narrowly defeated Paraguay (1-0).

In a tightly contested duel, France clinched qualification on penalties against Spain (5-4 on penalties) after a goalless draw (0-0) at the end of regular time. The quarterfinals will be played this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, with promising matchups. Note that no African team managed to get past the round of 16, with Nigeria, Morocco and Zambia all eliminated.
