Alassane Ouattara flew Sunday to Tokyo, Japan. The President of the Ivorian Republic will attend the enthronement of the new Emperor before heading to Sochi for the Russia-Africa summit.
The Ivorian head of state left Abidjan on Sunday 13 October for the Japanese capital. Alassane Ouattara will take part in the enthronement ceremony of the new Emperor Nippon, Crown Prince Naruhito, from 20 to 23 October 2019. On May 1, 2019, the latter officially became the 126th Emperor of Japan, following the abdication of his Father, Emperor Akihito. Several other foreign delegations and leaders are expected to attend.
According to the Presidency’s statement, ADO will visit Sochi from 23 to 26 October 2019. In Russia, he will participate in the first Russia-Africa summit on peace, security and development. This high-level meeting aims to explore ways and means of strengthening bilateral cooperation between Russia and the African continent in the political, economic and cultural fields. It will also be an opportunity for the Abidjan strong man to multiply audiences with eminent personalities from various backgrounds.
