U20 Women’s World Cup 2026: France and Ghana triumph, Japan held to a draw

France recorded another victory in Group C by overcoming Ecuador (3-2). The Bleuettes had to work hard to maintain their lead in a competitive match but left with what mattered most: three additional points. In the other group match, Ghana triumphed over South Korea (3-1). The Ghanaians made the difference with a solid performance, positioning themselves favorably in the race for qualification in the tournament.

Group D also offered its share of insights. Italy left no chance for New Zealand, dominating the game with a score of 3-0. The Italians thus achieved an important outcome in the standings. Finally, Japan and the United States delivered a particularly lively duel. The two teams ended with an even score (2-2), following a match where neither side managed to take decisive control.
