Senegal: $300 million for data centers and cybersecurity

The funding is intended to support cybersecurity and combat cybercrime, the development of data centers, technology transfer, and the strengthening of national capacities, according to information released after the meeting.

Several Senegalese start-ups are expected to be involved in the implementation of the projects. The presidency highlights anticipated benefits for access to digital public services, the protection of personal data, and the skilled employment of youth.

This announcement extends an agreement made in July 2026 between Cybastion and the Senegalese Ministry responsible for Digital Economy. At that time, the company was set to lead a consortium of American technology firms aimed at contributing to the deployment of digital infrastructure in the country.
