Sèmè-Podji: Marcel Gougbé leaves FCBE for another destination
Elected as a communal councilor on the FCBE list in the last local elections in Sèmè-Podji, Marcel Gougbé has officially left the ranks of the Force Cauri for an Emerging Benin (FCBE) party.

In a letter addressed to the party leadership, he cites “personal convenience” as the reason for his resignation.
According to Le Matinal, the resignee said he had acted in accordance with recommendations from his supporters base, who allegedly asked him to leave the party “without making noise”. However, he announced that a declaration of joining a new political formation will be made in the coming days, in accordance with his supporters.
Until now, Marcel Gougbé had been the only FCBE communal councilor in the Sèmè-Podji commune, elected in the Tohouè district. He is also the only FCBE representative in the 19th electoral district, where he led his party’s list in the 2023 legislative elections.
A significant figure of the FCBE at the local level, he was considered a close collaborator of Paul Hounkpè, the national executive secretary of the party.
