Parakou: Adiza Arouna installed as head of the 3rd arrondissement
Adiza Arouna was officially installed as head of Parakou’s 3rd arrondissement at a ceremony presided over on Monday, December 1, 2025, by Mayor Inoussa Zimé Chabi.

She succeeds the late Ibrahim Chabi Mama. This is the first time a woman has assumed the leadership of this arrondissement.
At her installation, Adiza Arouna paid tribute to her predecessor for the services rendered to the city. She thanked her party, the Bloc Républicain, for the trust placed in her and promised to give new momentum to local development.
She notably announced that she would focus her actions on women, young people and all community stakeholders in order to give a fresh boost to the 3rd arrondissement.
By marking this inauguration with the appointment of a woman to a post traditionally held by men, Parakou confirms a symbolic turning point in the drive for gender parity and the renewal of local governance leadership.
