Nigeria: Uba Sani appoints three commissioners and 45 staff in Kaduna
Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna State, has announced a series of appointments within his administration, including three new commissioners, 45 staff members, and 40 members across various public councils and agencies. The decisions were made public in a statement from his spokesperson, Ibraheem Musa, on September 10.

Ben Kure, previously the Director General of the Kaduna State Media Corporation, will now lead the Ministry of Sports Development. Amina Akilu Dalhat has been appointed as Commissioner for Special Missions I, while Abdullahi Garba Abbas takes on the role of Commissioner for Special Missions II.

The governor has also appointed Haliru Soba, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, as Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration. This reorganization also affects several public agencies in Kaduna State.

Among the appointed officials are Munir Jafaru, who will chair the Kaduna State Health Care Board, and Bashir Saidu, a former Air Force officer, who will head the Kaduna Vigilance Service Board. Gideon Isa Kurada has been selected to preside over the College of Education in Gidan Waya.

Uba Sani has urged the new officials to prioritize the quality of public service and to introduce new working methods. The governor, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was also tasked by President Bola Tinubu in February 2026 with a national role in political mobilization ahead of the 2027 elections.

Esther Bago will chair the Institute of Vocational Training and Skills Development, Yusuf Bature will lead the Kaduna Hospital Supply Management Agency, and Namadi Musa will oversee the Kaduna Rural Access Roads Authority.
