National Assembly: opening of the 2nd ordinary session set for October 31, 2025
The National Assembly of Benin will hold the solemn opening ceremony of its second ordinary session of the year on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., at the Palace of the Governors in Porto-Novo.

The announcement was made in a communiqué signed by the institution’s president, Louis Gbehounou Vlavonou, and relayed by the General Administrative Secretariat. Members of Parliament are invited to attend this opening session, with formation scheduled for precisely 12:30 p.m.
For the occasion, the communiqué specifies that the Honourable deputies must wear their official regalia.
The document, co-signed by Clément Houinou Ebo, Deputy Administrative Secretary-General, was broadcast in several radio and television slots from Monday, October 27 to Friday, October 31, 2025, to ensure broad awareness among parliamentarians.
This session, which opens in a political context marked by strong pre-election tensions, is the very last of the ninth legislature.
