According to information gathered by Fraternité fm, the facts took place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. Confronted by an angry crowd accusing them of being involved in animal theft, the two men were summarily executed on site.

The information, initially reported by local media, was formally confirmed by a municipal advisor as well as the head of the Angaradébou district, Arouna Dogo Yaro.

Alerted by the drama, elements of the Republican Police and local administrative authorities rushed to the scene to conduct initial findings and open an investigation.

Health risks and resurgence of private justice

The bodies of the two victims remained exposed at the scene of the tragedy for several hours, awaiting legal instructions from judicial authorities for their removal. This delay raised significant concerns within the neighborhood due to the obvious health risks.

This tragic event once again raises the issue of resorting to private justice. Although the exact identity of the victims and the precise sequence of events remain to be determined by police investigations, authorities remind that only the judicial institution is authorized to administer justice and that mob justice is not an accepted practice in a state governed by law.
