Kandi tragedy: three children die of suffocation in parked car in Donwari
A tragedy occurred in Donwari, a district of the commune of Kandi. Three children lost their lives after being trapped inside a vehicle that had been stationary for several days.

At the time of the events, the victims were alone at the family home, their parents having gone to work in the fields. While playing, the children got into the passenger compartment of the car without being able to unlock the doors.
Stranded for several hours, with the windows closed and in high heat, they suffered asphyxiation and dehydration.
The alert was given by a cameraman returning from a mission who heard suspicious noises coming from the vehicle. Upon approaching, the worker discovered one of the children already unconscious and the two others in critical condition.
After extracting the victims, he immediately evacuated the two survivors to a health center. Despite receiving emergency medical treatment, they died shortly afterwards.
This tragedy plunges the local community of Donwari into mourning.
