In Benin, the tour of the Minister of Maternal and Primary Education extends to Zou and Collines.

Accompanied by Minister Adviser Paulin Gbenou, Armand Kuyema Natta was welcomed in Dassa-Zoumé by the Collines prefect, Saliou Odoubou, and then in Abomey by the Zou prefect, Laurent Zomaï. Teachers, school directors, heads of educational districts, pedagogical advisors, and representatives of social partners participated in the meetings.

This stage of the tour aimed to enable the minister to directly exchange with field stakeholders on the priorities of the sub-sector. Armand Kuyema Natta indicated that the approach aimed to consolidate achievements and promote innovation, particularly through increased use of artificial intelligence in the transformation of education.

The discussions also allowed representatives of the educational staff to present several concerns. They specifically requested a strengthening of social dialogue, as well as the provision of IT equipment and vehicles to improve working conditions.

Artificial Intelligence at the Heart of the Discussions

Paulin Gbenou emphasized the need to accelerate the introduction of artificial intelligence tools into professional practices. According to him, this evolution should contribute to modernizing the work of maternal and primary education actors and improving teaching methods.

The timeline for implementing this direction and the resources that will be allocated to it have not been specified. However, the ministerial tour is expected to gather the expectations of decentralized structures and better convey the needs of educational institutions.
