The Beninese press is mourning the loss of one of their own once again. Christophe G. Djossou, a journalist, certified translator, and promoter of the online media Kingo News, passed away on the night of Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Abeokuta, Nigeria, from kidney failure.

At 46 years old, he leaves behind a wife and three children. His passing has sparked deep emotion in the Beninese media community.
As a member of the National Union of Online Media in Benin (UNaMEL), Christophe Djossou was known for his professional rigor and his commitment to promoting responsible journalism.
Since the beginning of 2025, the Beninese journalistic community has been deeply affected by a series of deaths. The months of May and June were particularly testing, with the successive losses of Nicaise Miguel, Péguy Ludovic Dagba, Dieudonné Akpo Idjiwa and Raïssa Gbédji.
This latest death extends a dark series that saddens and worries all media professionals, many of whom are now expressing their frustration with this silent tragedy.
