Communal elections 2026: the CENA sets the localities where the UP-R and the Republican Bloc will appoint village and district chiefs

This decision, signed on July 9, 2026, is based on the provisions of the Electoral Code related to the appointment of village and neighborhood chiefs. It specifies, locality by locality, the party that came out on top in the last municipal elections and, as such, has the right to propose the individuals who will hold these positions.

CENA indicates that this distribution was established based on the final results of the municipal elections, taking into account any rectification decisions that occurred after the electoral dispute.

The document will be sent to the competent authorities, including the minister in charge of Local Governance as well as the prefects of the various departments, for the continuation of the procedure.
