Dowman opened the scoring in the 7th minute before netting Arsenal’s third goal just after halftime in the 47th minute. Noni Madueke had doubled the visitors’ lead in the 16th minute, and Mikel Merino made it 4-0 in the 58th.

Ipswich pulled one back through Anis Mehmeti in the 62nd minute, followed by a late goal from Chuba Akpom in stoppage time. This victory allows Arsenal to progress to the fourth round of the competition, with the draw scheduled for Wednesday.

Dowman’s brace also places him alongside Wayne Rooney in a rare statistic. According to Reuters, he becomes the second player aged 16 to score two goals in a single match for a Premier League club, following Rooney’s feat with Everton against Wrexham in the League Cup in 2002.

This marked Dowman’s first appearance for the first team this season after four appearances on the bench without playing. Arsenal has now recorded 6 wins in 6 matches across all competitions since the start of the season.
