CAF Champions League: ASEC defeats ASCK 2-1 to advance 3-2 on aggregate

ASEC Mimosas secured their place in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League after a 2-1 victory over ASCK on Sunday, September 13. The Ivorian club triumphed 3-2 on aggregate over the two legs.

The tie remained completely open after the first leg, which ended in a 1-1 draw in Togo. Playing at home, ASEC made the difference in the return leg to progress to the next stage of the African competition.

The Confederation of African Football confirmed the Mimosas’ qualification in its summary of Sunday’s matches. The Ivorian club joins the likes of Horoya AC, Pyramids FC, Simba SC, and San Pedro among the teams that have qualified from this first preliminary round.

The second preliminary round will take place in October. The first leg matches are scheduled from October 16 to 18, followed by the return matches set for October 23 to 25.

ASEC concludes this first round with one win and one draw, scoring three goals and conceding two over the two encounters against the Togolese club.
