Borgou: the Les Démocrates party mobilizes its supporters in Parakou
The opposition party Les Démocrates is preparing to remobilize its grassroots structures. The party’s activists are invited to gather this Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Parakou.

Under the leadership of their president Nourénou Atchadé, the meeting will take place at the party’s departmental headquarters. This gathering comes in a unique political climate, characterized by the establishment of a political truce, the absence of party representation in the National Assembly and local councils, as well as internal tensions within the movement.
The event will bring together all the local leaders and coordinators, including: the arrondissement and municipal coordinators, the vice-presidents in charge of departments, former deputies, and members of the national coordination.
The major challenge of this meeting lies in the party’s ability to generate strong support and to remobilize its troops around its political agenda.
