Benin: weapons and military equipment found at a man’s home in Djougou
An operation carried out by the Republican Police on the morning of 16 December 2025 led to the discovery of a significant arsenal at the home of an individual in Kolokondé, not far from Djougou, in northern Benin.

Security forces, supported by the Peloton de Surveillance et d’Intervention (PSI) of Djougou, arrested a man suspected of being linked to an organized network specializing in armed robberies.
Intelligence used by the police indicates that the suspect, described as a hunter living in the area, may have acted as a supplier for unidentified armed men, notably by providing them with motorcycles and food supplies.
During the search, investigators seized several rounds and military items deemed incriminating. Among these were fifty-six 12‑gauge cartridges, thirteen rounds for PKM‑type weapons, one automatic pistol round, and three military uniforms. A HAQJUE SPORT motorcycle, whose origin has not yet been determined, was also found on site.
When questioned about the origin of these items, the man said he owned them. Because of the nature of the seized material and the seriousness of the suspicions, he was turned over to the Criminal Brigade, which is continuing the investigation to determine individual responsibility and whether others are involved in the case.
