Benin: seizure of 43 slabs of narcotics on board a driving school car
The Republican Police announced this Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the seizure of 43 packets of narcotics in Besse, in the Collines department.

The operation, carried out by the Besse district police station, is part of ongoing efforts to fight against the trafficking of psychotropic substances.
Based on deemed reliable information, a patrol team positioned at the corridor intercepted on Sunday, June 15, a Nissan Almera brand vehicle. Displaying the signs of a driving school, the car was heading towards Parakou. The cover was clearly aimed at concealing an illegal activity.
During the search, the officers found 43 packets of narcotic products hidden in a suitcase and a “Dangoté” type bag. The exact nature of the substances and their weight will be determined by the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking and Precursors, which was called in for expertise.
The driver, a man in his thirties, a student and promoter of a driving school in Kétou, said during his first hearing that the packages belonged to a third party. The investigation continues to identify any possible accomplices and to determine the origin and destination of the seized goods.
