Benin: Online tax system to launch in Parakou, Comè, and Lokossa

Parakou will be the first city to implement the system on September 21, followed by Comè on September 28 and Lokossa on October 5. Targeted taxpayers will be able to file their tax declarations and make payments online, without the need to visit their tax center in person.

This initiative will also allow for the online acquisition of tax documents, including payment receipts and tax compliance certificates. The DGI plans to conduct awareness and training sessions to assist the affected taxpayers in using the platform.

The extension targets partner taxpayers associated with these three CIPE and broadens access to the dematerialized tax services already offered by the administration.

Three deployment dates

The schedule outlines three phases: September 21 in Parakou, September 28 in Comè, and October 5 in Lokossa. On each of these dates, the relevant taxpayers will be able to access online services through the DGI’s e-services platform.

Available procedures include filing obligations and payments, as well as access to certain tax documents. The administration’s stated goal is to reduce the need for in-person visits to service counters and to ease the administrative burden associated with these formalities.

This extension is part of the gradual dematerialization of tax procedures in Benin. For the targeted partner taxpayers, the first operational deadline is set for September 21, 2026, in Parakou, followed by Comè a week later and Lokossa on October 5.
