In a statement relayed by Oxygène Bénin, the political figure asserts that he has taken no action indicating a rallying to the current power. He explains that his recent positions, interpreted by some as a rapprochement with the mouvance, are primarily an exercise of his freedom of expression and his personal analysis of national current events.

Guy Mitokpè further clarifies that his political future is not decided individually. He clearly states that he remains a cadre of the party Les Démocrates and that any evolution of his political commitment will depend exclusively on the orientations and decisions taken by his political formation.

“I have not joined the mouvance,” he insists, adding that the speculations about him stem more from hasty interpretations than from established facts.

It is important to mention that the opposition party Les Démocrates has set up a committee tasked with reflecting on the party’s future in a political context undergoing total change where the presidential majority reigns supreme.

The conclusions of these reflections will determine its future political choice. It is therefore not excluded that Guy Mitokpè may join “the ranks.” Everything will depend on the party’s next positioning.
