Benin: Djibril Mama Cissé makes an unannounced visit to the security forces in Kalalé.
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, the day of the New Year celebration, the Prefect of Borgou, Djibril Mama Cissé, carried out an unannounced visit to the Defence and Security Forces deployed at the Kalalé Advanced Operational Base.

He was accompanied by the commander of the 2nd Combined Arms Battalion of Parakou. This field visit forms part of a proximity approach and of the Republic’s recognition of these uniformed men who, in a demanding security context, ensure round-the-clock protection of the territory and the safety of the population.
On site, the prefectural authority praised the courage, selflessness, and high sense of republican duty of the personnel engaged. As a sign of solidarity and encouragement, provisions were handed to the troops.
The exchanges, marked by an atmosphere of fraternity, allowed the reaffirmation of the State’s constant commitment alongside the Defence and Security Forces and to strengthen the men’s confidence, who departed galvanised and determined to pursue their mission with loyalty and professionalism.
Djibril Mama Cissé also called on the populations of Borgou to engage in frank, responsible, and permanent collaboration with the Defence and Security Forces, stressing that this synergy remains an essential condition for sustainably addressing the challenge of securing the department and, beyond, the entire national territory.
