An esteemed diplomatic and political career

​A career diplomat, Issiradjou Ibrahim Gomina represented Benin abroad as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, and then to the Republic of Turkey.

On a national level, he held the position of Technical Advisor on Governance to the former State Minister in charge of Development and Coordination of Government Action, Abdoulaye Bio Tchané.

​In the political landscape, he was a founding member and devoted activist of the Republican Bloc (BR), where he chaired the Permanent Technical Commission for Foreign Affairs, African Integration, and Beninese abroad.

​In an official statement released on August 16, 2026, the president of the Republican Bloc party, Abdoulaye Bio Tchané, honored the memory of an “intrepid fighter” and a “hard-working individual.” He extended his condolences to the grieving family, the relatives of the deceased, as well as to the activists of the 14th electoral district.

​The burial of the illustrious deceased is scheduled for this Monday, August 17, 2026, at 3 PM in Bassila.
