Benin: Boni Yayi and the Agbodjo–Lodjou duo summoned to the Judicial Police

According to party spokesman Guy Mitokpè, cited by BIP Radio, the three figures are expected to appear this Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in connection with a case whose nature has not yet been disclosed.

The information was reported by BIP Radio, which cites sources close to the opposition party.

This summons comes against a particularly tense political backdrop, marked by disputes over sponsorship endorsements and appeals pending before the Constitutional Court.

Boni Yayi’s party has for several days denounced what it calls attempts to exclude it from the electoral process, while the institutions involved insist they are acting in accordance with the law.

For now, no official details have emerged about the exact grounds for this DPJ hearing. The Les Démocrates party says, however, that it is closely following developments in the case and is calling for vigilance in the face of what it describes as “intimidation tactics.”
