Benin: a teacher sent to jail for the safety of his underage female students
A teacher has been sent to Abomey-Calavi civil prison on alleged charges of raping several of his underage female students.

A teacher at a Public Primary School (EPP) in Porto-Novo, he is accused of raping minors under 13 years of age. Arraigned before the court of repression of economic offenses and terrorism (CRIET) on Thursday, June 26, 2025, he was placed in preventive detention.
According to information, the teacher is an assistant to a headmistress of a CM2 class at a public primary school in Louho, Porto-Novo. In his class, he maintained sexual relations with underage girls.
He managed to involve three (03) girls, but the fourth resisted. The tests performed confirmed this girl’s statements.
To achieve his bad intentions, the teacher threatens his victims that they would fail their CEP exam if they did not submit to his perverse whims. The educator even goes as far as to threaten to kill them if they talked to their parents about it.
Once unmasked, the teacher was taken into custody at the Central Office for the Protection of Minors (OCPM), before being presented to the Criet.
After his hearing before the Criet, the teacher was listened to by the freedom and detention judge. The latter issued a detention warrant against him. He was deposited at the Abomey-Calavi civil prison while waiting for his trial.
