Benin: A director disciplined in Savè for inappropriate relationship with a married woman
The Ministry of Kindergarten and Primary Education has taken disciplinary action against a primary school principal in Savè, in the Collines department.
The individual in question, as reported by Africaho, was relieved of his duties for “inappropriate behavior”, according to an official statement published on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, and recorded on June 18 at the Departmental Directorate of Kindergarten and Primary Education (DDEMP).
According to ministerial decision n°0431/MEMP/DCM/SGM/CTJ/CCJ/DPAF/SGRHTE/DADCDS/SP, signed by Minister Salimane Karimou, the teacher classified in category B, level 1 is sanctioned for having maintained a relationship deemed inappropriate with a married woman.
A behavior considered contrary to the requirements of probity and the ethical principles governing the civil service, particularly in the education sector.
To ensure the continuity of service, the management of the school has been entrusted, on an interim basis, to the principal of the neighboring school who will now hold both positions.
The sanctioned teacher, for his part, has been reassigned as an assistant teacher in another school in the same school district. This decision aims to preserve order and balance in the local school environment.
