Benin – 2026 legislative elections: L’UP Le Renouveau submits its list of candidates to CENA
L’Union Progressiste Le Renouveau (UP-R) has filed its list of candidates for the January 2026 legislative elections this Wednesday, 19 November 2025, with the CENA. The delegation, led by several prominent figures, completed the procedure at 8:00 p.m., in the final hours of the legal deadline.

UP Le Renouveau has finally joined the list of political parties that submitted their files to the National Autonomous Electoral Commission (CENA). The Baobab party filed its list of candidates on Wednesday evening, at exactly 8:00 p.m.
The party’s delegation was made up of several influential officials, including MPs Orden Alladatin and Gérard Gbénonchi, as well as committed activist Sèdami Fagla. All were seen crossing the institution’s gate, a sign of active mobilization to ensure the dossiers’ compliance.
The filing came a few hours before the official closing of the submission window. Like the other competing parties, UP Le Renouveau was required to provide lists of principal candidates, substitutes and those reserved for female representation, in accordance with the Electoral Code.
