Benin – 2026 Legislative Elections: candidate filings from November 15 to 19
The National Autonomous Electoral Commission (CENA) has set the filing period for candidacy applications for the 2026 legislative elections.

Political parties have a five-day period, from Saturday, November 15 to Wednesday, November 19, 2025, to submit their complete files.
This step marks a decisive phase of the electoral process. Political parties are urged to strictly comply with legal and administrative requirements to avoid any risk of their candidacies being rejected.
A new challenge for the opposition party Les Démocrates, which has struggled since the start of the electoral process to assemble files free of reproach.
The 2026 legislative elections already look set to be a major test of the country’s democratic vitality, in a political context that is being closely watched.
