Asake reigns on Apple Music Benin: six tracks in the Top 10

According to the chart published by Soundcharts, “Forgiveness” is number 1, ahead of “Gratitude” and “WHY LOVE”. Further down the ranking, Asake appears again in 6th place with “BADMAN GANGSTA”, his collaboration with Tiakola, in 8th with “MCBH”, then in 10th with “WORSHIP” alongside DJ Snake.

In other words, more than half of the Beninese Top 10 currently bear Asake’s signature or voice. The phenomenon is all the more striking because the tracks in question do not rely on a single style: they mix solo songs, collaborations, and tracks from different recent phases of his career.

A connection that goes beyond Nigeria

Tiakola’s presence on “BADMAN GANGSTA” adds a particularly familiar tone for the French-speaking audience. The track brings together Asake’s Afrobeats and the melodic touch of the French-Congolese rapper, creating a musical bridge between Lagos and the Francophone space that today finds a visible resonance in Benin.

“Gratitude” and “WHY LOVE” also appear on M$NEY, Asake’s fourth studio album, released in May 2026 via GIRAN Republic and EMPIRE. Upon its release, “Gratitude” reached number one on the Official Nigeria Top 100, according to TurnTable Charts, with 7.3 million on-demand streams during the measured week.

This new Beninese achievement thus extends an already very strong year for the artist. It mainly shows that his audience is no longer limited to the Nigerian market: in Benin, his songs are simultaneously becoming part of listening habits, to the point of dominating the top positions of a major national chart.

Benin, a Familiar Ground for Asake

Asake is not unknown to the Beninese public. His arrival in Cotonou for WeLoveEya in 2023 had already made headlines and led to a notable meeting with President Patrice Talon. Three years later, it is this time the streaming platforms that demonstrate the extent of his local presence.

The Apple Music Benin chart remains naturally fluid and can change quickly. But in the ranking for the week of September 8, the observation is clear: with six tracks in the Top 10 and a sweep of the top three spots, Asake marks one of the most dominant presences currently in Beninese listening.
