Appeal by the party Les Démocrates: hearing postponed to 4 p.m. for a report
This Thursday, October 23, 2025, the Constitutional Court opened the hearing on the appeal filed by the party Les Démocrates against the annulment of deputy Michel Sodjinou’s sponsorship.

Lire en françaisAfter the parties’ initial submissions, the High Court decided to adjourn the hearing until 4 p.m. for the presentation of the report.
This much-anticipated hearing should allow the Court to rule on the constitutionality of the decision handed down by the Cotonou court, which had ordered the return of Michel Sodjinou’s sponsorship form and its possible invalidation.
A favorable outcome for the opposition party would be decisive for the continuation of its participation in the electoral process ahead of the 2026 presidential election.
