Accident near Gaani 2026: The Imperial Court of Nikki provides assistance to the injured in Parakou and Boko.
Following the Gaani celebrations for 2026, the Imperial Court of Nikki expresses its solidarity with the victims of the serious traffic accident that occurred on Thursday, August 27th, near Boko, in the municipality of N’Dali.
On Saturday, August 29, 2026, a delegation mandated by the Emperor, His Majesty Séro Torou Touko Sari, and led by his Yerouma, visited hospitals to provide moral support to the injured and their families.
The incident occurred during the return journey from the festivities, involving several riders and their horses. Preliminary reports indicate one fatality, a resident of Komiguéa, and several injuries.
The imperial mission visited the 37 survivors, who are being cared for in three medical facilities:
- 15 patients are being monitored at the Borgou-Alibori University Hospital;
- 13 people are receiving care at the Military Hospital in Parakou;
- 9 injured individuals are being treated at Boko Hospital.
In coordination with the Benin Massobou Association, representatives of the Nikki royal court conveyed wishes for a swift recovery to the sovereign. The health of those hospitalized is reported to be stable, and their medical care continues.
