2026 Presidential Elections: Daniel Edah Takes a New Step Toward Confirming His Candidacy
Daniel Edah, a declared candidate for the 2026 presidential election and president of the “Nous le ferons” (“We Will Do It”) movement, has just obtained his tax clearance certificate.

He made the announcement on his Facebook page with a note of thanks to God. “Tax clearance! Glory to God,” he wrote.
The news drew numerous congratulations from his supporters, but it also carries significant political weight: it serves as a response to accusations that the tax administration had shown bias against certain opposition candidates.
By obtaining this clearance, the former senior civil servant, now a member of the opposition party Les Démocrates, has fulfilled yet another criterion set by the party’s leadership for selecting its presidential ticket.
As a reminder, a few days earlier, on September 25, Daniel Edah had announced he was joining Les Démocrates, following an audience with former president Boni Yayi.
The president of the “Il fera beau” (“Fair Weather Ahead”) movement had announced his candidacy for the 2026 presidential election. He is expected to be a strong contender for a spot on the party’s presidential ticket.
