One year after his less appreciated adventure with the French club Monaco, Thierry Henry is back on the map. The French coach will take over the reins of Impact Moreal, a club where a certain Didier Drogba has played.
Forgotten by the media in recent months, French legend Thierry Henry has returned to the headlines of sports news. From mid-January 2020, Thierry Henry will replace Wilmer Cabrera, who took over as interim manager after Rémi Garde’s dismissal and whose contract has not been renewed. The announcement was made on Thursday 14th November 2019 by Impact Moreal who will officially introduce his new coach at a press conference scheduled for next Monday.
In terms of contract, the former coach of Monaco signed for two years with an option year. A news that relaunches Thierry Henry’s coaching career after his three-month misadventure with AS Monaco, a French top flight team with which he joined the team as head coach in October 2018.
“It is an honour to become head coach of the Montreal Impact and return to MLS. It’s a league I know well, where I had a great time. Being in Quebec, in Montreal, which has a huge multicultural heritage, is something extraordinary. I’ve always had an eye on this club and now I’m there,” said Thierry Henry after his appointment.
