In an interview broadcast by several Cameroonian media on Thursday, 14th November 2019, Samuel Eto’o tackled his former teammate Patrick Mboma for his candidacy for the position of coach of the Cameroon Indomitable Lions. Like a response from the shepherd to the shepherdess, Patrick Mboma brought his reply to Samuel Eto’o on Friday, 15th November.
It is said that dirty laundry can be washed with the family. But the two Cameroonian legends Samuel Eto’o and Patrick Mboma have chosen to settle their dispute through the media. Launching the first breach, Samuel Eto’o found it inconvenient to submit the candidacy of his former teammate Patrick Mboma for the position of coach of the Cameroon Indomitable Lions.
“I blame Patrick for several things. You can’t criticize a coach for not having experience and at the same time, you too, without experience, come and apply for the same position. There’s something wrong with that.” said Eto’o.
Patrick Mboma, on the other hand, did not play a mediocre role. The former attacker of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon replied to Samuel Eto’o: “the dog barks, the caravan goes on,” he twitched.
This subtle response from the former No. 10 of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon prompted a new reaction from Samuel Eto’o. The former Cameroonian No. 9 adds a layer of it in these terms: “Apparently the caravan had a moment to make a comment. My advice remains valid”.
