Elected on Friday 27 September 2019, Monique Kanhonou is now officially installed in the 10th district of Cotonou city. It was at a ceremony presided over by Acting Mayor Isidore Gnonlonfoun on Friday 15 November 2019.
Monique Kanhonou officially takes over the reins of the 10th arrondissement. She thus takes the place of Florentin Tchaou who now sits in Parliament following the example of Abraham Zinzindohoué. To get there, Monique Kanhonou first faced Martial Hounnou. She got away with it with 26 votes to 20 for her challenger.
