The results of the Tunisian electoral commission published on Monday 14th october 2019, officially gave Kaïs Saïed the winner with 72.71% of the votes cast.
No surprise! The new president of Tunisia is academic Kaïs Saïed. Announced at the top of the state with impressive figures from the polls of the second round, the election of the professor of constitutional law to the supreme magistracy of Tunisia has just been officially confirmed by the electoral commission. According to figures published by the Tunisian competent body for the officialization of presidential results, independent candidate Kaïs Saïed won the second round of voting with 72.71% of the votes. He will therefore succeed former Tunisian President Béji Caïd Essebsi, who died on 25 July in Tunis.
